When My Baby Dreams of reading her books...

Oh here it is! Our first book cover ♡ When My Baby Dreams (HarperCollins, Balzer + Bray )

This book is highly tested with the target audience. Here you can see the test group in action. ;)

The Project Nursery: The reading corner is still middle of progress,
I'd like to make some kind of babyproof divan there,
where we could read or play with Mila.
Before I figure out how to make that,
there's just blankets and pillows to make it more comfortable.

 Mila's favourite books so far:

1. Cat the Cat, Who Is That? by Mo Willems
2. Not a Box by Antoinette Portis
3. Beautiful Oops! by Barney Saltzberg
4. Who Will Comfort Toffle? by Tove Jansson
(Ok, this one is actually MY favourite, but I love to read this one for her. The author was a Finn and incredibly talented woman!)
5. Good Night Moon by Margaret Wise Brown

  2. We put mattress on the ground in our reading corner. It's very comfy and our little girl loves it.

  3. I made a large bean bag (150x150) it doubles as a horse, boat and a forest for teddy bears picnic....

    We like reading:

Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? by Bill Martin (illustrated by Eric Carle)

And I love to read the Hairy MacLary books by Lynley Dodd but they are a bit too old for my little one at the moment.

  5. my daughter's is PENGUIN by Polly Dunbar... Beautiful :-)

  6. The book cover is wonderful Adele. Think how Mila will love and look back on this when she is older. You have a wonderful and talented family that continues to bless us.

  8. 'I Took the Moon For a Walk' (barefoot books) by Carolyn Curtis is our favourite book - beautiful illustrations and words. Works as a good follow-on book to 'Goodnight Moon.'

    Happy reading.

  9. Great!That's what I'm waiting for.But...I live in Taiwan(hope you know where it is^^),how(where) can I buy that book?(crying...><)

  10. How exciting! The cover looks great! Our daughter can't go to bed without reading Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman.

  11. My 12 month olds favorites are Quiet Loud, Happy Dog Sad Dog, Touch and Feel Animal books, Ladybug's Lessons, and Llama Llama Red Pajama. :-)

  12. My granddaughter loved the books by Sandra Boynton. They made her laugh at Mila's age. She especially loved "moo moo ba ba lalala" and "But not the hippopatumus". Enjoy this time with her! It is a wonderful age!
    Hugs, Mickie

  13. Two of our current favorites:
Pearl Barley and Charlie Parsley by, Aaron Blabey
The Other Side by, Alejandro Aura

My kids are 5 and 3, they've loved these for more than a year.

  14. Whenever I need a gift for a baby, I'm going to give your book... it looks wonderful!! I just loved how creative you were with Mila's sleep time!! One of my favorite books is Runaway Bunny, by Margaret Wise Brown, with pictures by Clement Hurd. ♫ ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪ "Once there was a little bunny who wanted to run away. So he said to his mother, 'I am running away.'" ...♫ ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪"'If you run away,' said his mother, 'I will run after you. For you are my little bunny.'" ♫ ♪♫♪♫♪♫♪ I had this book on tape for my children (current ages 29, 27, 25, & 23 -- time goes by so fast) and another copy for the preschool where I taught. Children just love the rhythm when the words of the book are put to music.

  15. "The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear" by Don and Audrey Wood (SO wonderful!)
    "Little Gorilla" by Ruth Bornstein
"Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss

  16. I've been following you and Mila for a long time! So excited about the book. Looking forward to getting one for all my pregnant friends :)

  17. "Love you Forever" by Robert Munsch -- make sure you have a box of tissues handy when you read it... EVERY time you read it!

  18. Oh, and congrats on your new book by the way! So exciting!

  21. My toddler LOVES Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdeny (?) right now. We're also big fans of pretty much anything by Audry and Don Woods (The Napping House, King Bidgood is in the Bathtub, The Little Mouse the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear) and Sandra Boynton (But Not the Hippopotamus, Moo Baa Lalala, Oh my oh my oh Dinosaurs, etc.).

Here were some of my kids' favorite baby/toddler books: http://goodbooksforyoungsouls.blogspot.com/2010/05/how-to-find-best-books-for-babies-and.html
A personal favorite of mine, which I think you'll love as much (if not more) than Mila - sweet nursery rhymes and great 3-D fabric artwork: POCKETFUL OF POSIES by Salley Mavor! http://goodbooksforyoungsouls.blogspot.com/2011/03/book-review-i-cant-resist-sharing-by.html
Also, since Mila likes Mo Willems - Have you read KNUFFLE BUNNY? I think it's one of his best! http://goodbooksforyoungsouls.blogspot.com/2011/03/how-mo-willems-makes-us-laugh.html

  24. My favorite children's book of *ALL TIME* is Where The Wild Things Are. I still have my childhood copy. :P I also like Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible Very Bad Day. Anything illustrated by Eric Carl is high on my list as well as Dr. Seuss.

  25. My two all time favorites are I Love You Stinkyface by Lisa McCourt and Cyd Moore, and You Are My I Love You by Maryann K. Cusimano and Satomi Ichikawa. And of course anything by Dr. Seuss.

  26. Thanks for sharing your favorites, I am always looking for new books. I love Hush Little Baby by Sylvia Long. It is a different take on the song focusing on nature instead of material things. I now sing it to my toddler before bed. It has really sweet pictures too.

  27. My favorite growing up was always "The Run Away Bunny". http://books.google.com/books/about/The_Runaway_Bunny.html?id=Kr3QSOrKoGYC

  28. Ah, love the nursery! Liam loves anything and everything by Dr Seuss, Luka at 3 months takes what she is given!

  29. Is Your Mama a Llama by Deborah Guarino

Love You Forever by Robert Munsch & Sheila McGraw
(you might want some Kleenex the first time you read this one!)

  30. So exciting your book is for sale. I use to love looking at the pics on you blog and was so sad when you had to take them down. So happy I can buy the book now! Love them! Congrats!

  31. We are in a Book by Mo Willems
    one of my favorites!

  32. Definetly getting your book when it comes out - I love your creativity!

Love from Mari Ann in Norway

BTW: my daughter loved this book, which we have in Norwegian.

  33. Any and all books by Ezra Jack Keats - my favorite is A Letter To Amy, but The Snowy Day, Whistle For Willie, Peter's Chair... any of them are great and the artwork is spectacular. The Jewish Museum in Manhattan is holding an exhibit of Keats' works for the next few months, I can't wait to see the pictures up close.

  34. Favorite children's book: "I Love You, Mouse" by John Graham and illustrations by Tomie dePaola. It was my favorite as a little girl and I read my old battered copy to my boys when they were both small. <3

  35. My daughter Mila loves the touch and feel little monkey book. We don't go anywhere without it!! Your Mila would love it too!

  36. The Lion and the Little Red Bird---swoops of color and a sweet little mystery.

" . . .but the Lion just SMILED."

It's delightful to hear your news, and so good to see you back.
