This is just a gentle reminder that I have nowadays this new blog and website (because this blogger website url was banned in facebook for mysterious reasons)

Origami Heart Advent Calendar

| I wanted to make a simple home-made calendar for Mila. Since I had some left over origami papers from my wreath, I googled "Origami Heart Envelope" and found these folding instructions. |

| I tried to put mine in a shape of a christmas tree... bigger heart would be nice too. Or star? |
 |
| I'm pretty sure that Mila is not one of my readers yet, so I can reveal some of the little surprises I put in those envelopes: Cute stickers and organic, fair trade chocolate chips. |

Things I love in Finland: Maternity Package

| The New Finnish Maternity Package has a new design called "Sukupuu" = "Family Tree". |

| obviously you can fill your own there. |

| The box itself is very handy - you can use it as a baby crib or as an extention to your family bed, since you can fold one side down. |

| This year it has a lot of turqoise color, which is nice! One of my favorite colors. |

| And how did they knew I love owls? |

| And when your child grows out from the box bed and the tiny newborn clothes, you can restore it in your closet. It looks nice there and you don't have to hide it in the attic. Although, then your husband might get suspicious, and ask if you are planning to get pregnant again. Then you can roll your eyes and scream, "no!" "No"! (And do lot of denying and head shaking) It's just because it's so pretty here! Look at it. Looook at it. Pretty box full of tiny baby stuff, we're never going to use again. Ever. |

How to (try) stay creative with never sleeping kids...
1. Don't try to stay in your own, tiny working space. 2. Put your needy newborn in a sling. 3. Prime your huge canvas in the living room while.... 4. ...your terrible two is getting closer to edge of the paper with pencils.
5. And pray that those tiny hands stay away from the wet paint, while you cook lunch/answer to the phone/breastfeed/look the other way.
Repeat until your painting is ready. Mine is not. Maybe in a few years...

How did it start? Read it from the ETSY blog!
I just wanted to show you the pictures where I got the idea.
One day Mila fell asleep on a blanket and looked like a little fencer.
Next day, when I was looking that picture, I thought it could be funnier if
there was something else happening on a background. They could be her dreams illustrated!

built this little forest from a pillows and blankets...

Ciao my friends!
A while ago I gave an interview to one italian magazine called D – La repubblica delle Donne (Magazine No.770, pages 128-129 and 130-131, article by Valentina Pigmei) and I liked that article a lot, well I can't speak italian, but I translated it with google translator, so I believe I understood the most of it. Paintings and drawings
This autumn my favourite thing was to paint or draw meanwhile I listen audio books from my Kindle. Well, until I got so nauseous that I couldn't draw a line without feeling sick. My morning sickness has been quite unpredictable and abstract. I guess now I know how my hubby felt two years ago, when I got nauseous from his composed music and threw up after we saw movies like Avatar and Up!
It's totally unfair to feel sick from the things you normally love, luckily this state will pass.
I can't wait to be able to paint something again!
