I used to introduce myself as a copywriter & concept designer in advertising, but that's not that relevant anymore. Right now I am a mother and a housewife, and loving it!
This blog is my maternity leave hobby. While my baby is taking her nap, I create scene around her and take quick snap photos.
I use only few minutes per picture, including creating idea, implementation and editing, 'cause I don't want to disturb her sleeping and most of my time is for my family. My camera is small and inexpensive Canon IXUS 750.

ReplyDeletewhat an amazing idea... so precious
ReplyDeleteI just found this site and it is wonderful! Such creativity and wonders. (Makes me feel guilty for my lame maternity leave.)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your beautiful daughter, and I hope you are able to continue these adventures.
Thank you for this. Incredible.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous record of your baby you have (are going to have). Instead of a stack of regular old snaps, you will have a portfolio of brilliant mixed-media masterpieces. Thanks for sharing your creativity and cute kid with us!
ReplyDeleteThis is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! (Now that you've been boingboing'ed you'll be getting a lot of traffic!)
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable! Super creative.
ReplyDeleteyour imagination is incredible! what a great gift for your daughter and for the rest of us who are lucky enough to see these works of art! You must have a great napper though :)
ReplyDeleteAMAZING
ReplyDeleteamazing work. What beautiful pictures to display. How I wish I were that creative with my own children!
ReplyDeleteAh the things you can do with your first born!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are just incredible and so creative. I am sure your little girl will love seeing these when she gets older. I feel inspired by your work here and feel like I need to get more creative with my sweet little boy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to portray the magic and joy of your baby daughter! (BTW: She does not look "dead." And a maternity leave "hobby" is quite common, it's usually referred to as "discovering the unexpected fun in life!") Thanks for sharing these wonderful images.
ReplyDeletei really love it! in love with all your photos! :) how i wish i was able to do that during my maternity leave, too.
ReplyDeleteI think it's amazing! So creative and sweet!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your daughter would be proud of these photos when she grows up.
ReplyDeleteAdele,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing you have created for your daughter to look back on and thank you so much for sharing. Your imagination is amazing as well as the items you have lying around to create these wonderful scenes.
I wish every child had a mom with a mind like this. What a lucky kid.
ReplyDeleteYou are so amazingly creative! New career in infant photography?
ReplyDeleteVery creative...Love it! Wish my mom had been 1/50th as inventive. I think it's great that you have a maternity leave hobby. I cannot imagine putting my creativity on hold simply because of giving birth. Actually, I'm sure it would inspire me even more. You go girl!
ReplyDeleteA friend just shared your blog with me, and I'm in love. I'm also an ad copywriter, hobby photographer, and a new mommy. Thanks for this wonderful inspiration!
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing your imagination and your beautiful baby with us.
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable. I just had a little boy so I definitely understand wanting to stare at him all day. :D These photos will make her smile for years, I'm sure! What a fun project.
ReplyDeleteYou are very creative.!! Move over Ann Geddes, there is a new photographer in town!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Considerably less creepy than the "Let's dress baby up like an adult, in over sized clothes" I love this- it's making me look around my house for such inspiration, and I don't even have a baby.
ReplyDeleteThese are so lovely, and the video with music brought tears to my eyes. I'm a new mom, too, and your little girl is so lucky to have such a creative, whimsical and obviously caring mother.
ReplyDeleteOn the commercial side ... you could easily print these and make them into gift cards, calendars, framed prints for the nursery ... they would sell like hotcakes on Etsy. If you ever decide to do that, please post to your blog, as I would love to be one of your first customers!
Best wishes and sweet dreams,
Melissa
Houston, TX

You are totally insane, and utterly, utterly brilliant! These are fantastic little things creations, and I marvel at your ability to turn wraps, cloth and towels into these scenes.
ReplyDeleteWhen your little girl looks back on this in 14 years time, she will be SO EMBARASSED.
But then in 25 years time, she will love you for it ;) Well done.
Genius. You should make these into greeting/thankyou/note cards!
ReplyDeleteThis would be a coffee table book i would actually buy!

ReplyDeleteLove your job :))
A fan from France :)
First of all, I see a book in your future.
ReplyDeleteSecond, good for you even spending just a few moments out of your rest time from caring for such a tiny one to set up a scene.
this is fabulous in so many ways. I love that you're doing something productive when you're baby is sleeping rather than complaining about how tiered you are.
ReplyDeleteI think this will start a trend! Such a sweet record of you sweet girl.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this so much I can hardly stand it! What a lucky, lucky baby to have a mom who brings this kind of spirit to parenting.

ReplyDeleteI feel like I've just seen the beauty that lies within a person I don't even know...and that is the sign of a true artist- the ability to relate and communicate with an unseen audience. Your hobby is amazing and I can feel the love for your child in it. Blessings in all your days, mama. You have inspired me!
ReplyDeleteMy heart hurts.. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou are one creative mommy!! Beautiful pics. As a reading specialist, I especially love the bookworm.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! A friend of mine just forwarded your blog to me. What a wonderful idea!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are GREAT! Enjoy your maternity leave!
ReplyDeleteAs a stay at home father of two small children, my golden (survival) rule of thumb is when the babies sleep, I sleep. Not only do I admire your creativity and execution (I think you'll make millions btw), I admire your energy to even conceive the idea and ability to carry it out. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThey were talking about your site on the radio this morning. I think it's sweet - don't listen to the haters!!!

ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet and wonderful blog. It's great that you have the time and energy to be so creative! ^o^ I'm sure this is going to be the most amazing baby album any kid has ever had. I can already picture the "bring your baby photo to work day" :D
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely, but I do think you should give a mention of Jan von Holleben. It seems these photos were definitely inspired by his...and his "Dreams of Flying" series started back in 2002.

At night when I have to think about going to work and leaving my babies in day care, it makes me sad. Then I wonder what they do all day without me. These pictures just further my desire to be a stay at home mom. Take my advice... they are TOO precious. If you don't have to go back to work, don't.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your pictures :)
You are so creative! Those pictures blew my mind!!! Really great!

ReplyDeletehttp://expectingchic.blogspot.com/
Whoever bitched about you having a maternity leave hobby has OBVIOUSLY never been on maternity leave. Newborn babies require nonstop attention, but they also sleep A LOT! Kudos to you for using the time creatively instead of watching crappy day time tv like I did!
ReplyDeleteLove these! You are really creative. I agree with the others, make a book.
ReplyDeleteGenius! I love this idea. Go and make $$$ off of it!!!

ReplyDeleteChapel Hill , NC, USA
what an amazing and unique idea! so happy to see your creativity and fun!
ReplyDeleteSo touching.... lovely.
ReplyDeleteshe is very well loved:) Thank you for sharing,
ReplyDeleteI remember looking at my little girl during all those long naps....no words can explain the feeling inside...nurturing, peace, love, just an indescribable feeling, I remember just looking at her, smelling her, feeling her breath on my cheeks, tears of love running down my cheeks because it was just too amazing! I can tell by those pictures that you are experiencing the same thing, but you are gifted and did it with pictures:)
I'm sitting her crying because this pics are so incredibly touching. I am now inspired to do something similar with my daughter Emma. I'm trying to keep as much maternity time as I can. Money being what it is, I needed to go back to work early, but I'm restricting myself to 2 or 3 days a week...
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect reason why I need to stay home so I can spend as much time with my insperation!
nice... really nice work...
ReplyDeletethese would make really cute greeting cards, not to mention the advertising potential. Very very original. Love it!

WOW!!, amazing is prob an understatement. I saw some of these in todays Sun newspaper here in Britain and was taken back by what are the most lovely photos. Where do you get your insperation from?
ReplyDeleteLike most of the comments on here I only wish I had thought about doing the same thing when our little boy was the same age. he is now 7mths old and doesn't sleep as much in the day as he used to.
Defo made my day and made me rethink for when our next little bunddle of joy comes along.

ReplyDeletethis is brilliant.
ReplyDeletethey are just treasures!
wow.
i love them all!
ihana :)
ReplyDeleteTo the Mommy with the 7 month old, you can do these while he's awake. I was so inspired by this blog (seriously, I've been staring at it nonstop for two days now...) I made a few scenes with my 6 month old son. He doesn't sleep well, so I decided to just try it awake. They are so cute! He's a pirate on a pirate ship, and he's a knight fighting a dragon. Tomorrow, he's going to be a moose. Not on a moose, an actual moose. We'll see how that goes...
ReplyDeletei am blown away by your photos! hats off to you for "dreaming" along with mila and making them real. you are a creative genius, and a wonderful mom. :) will visit often.
ReplyDeleteOh my god.. thank you all for your nice comments and emails. I wish I could answer to them all but I guess you'll understand that it's impossible now. Suddenly my crazy mommy-blog is everywhere. I send my love to all you lovely people.
ReplyDeleteSabrina: That's so cool. I've been so impressed with all "fan photos" what i've already received. It's nice to give inspiration to other mom's! BTW Have you seen the article in The SUN?
"Email your own baby dream snaps, with your contact details, to features@the-sun.co.uk and your little one might soon be appearing in The Sun.

ReplyDeleteAdele,
ReplyDeleteThese are very lovely pictures, but I have to wonder whether your daughter will be thankful for you putting her on the internet when she's older. Maybe she will. I just wondered whether you gave any thought to that or not? Was it an easy decision, or did you even see it as a decision? I just think it's a very personal thing to want to share with strangers all around the world. Is it the kind of thing people just do automatically these days? Hope you don't mind having one very slightly critical comment, but I think it's okay to have a discussion about this, don't you? Good luck with your family.
Paul.
this is honestly one of the most awesome things I have seen in baby photography! I LOVE the idea. Thank you so much for letting us in and enjoying your giftedness. and what a wonderful way to capture your baby growing! -Angel
